  The 4th and 5th grade Creative Crew have just finished their Reflections Contest Entries.  An Awards Ceremony is scheduled for December 9th.  Each student had to create an original work of art based on the theme-"Let Your Imagination Fly."  Creative Crew students had access to all mediums in the art room to complete their entry.

Congratulations to Natalie(top left) Skylar(top right) Santiago(center)Claire(Bottom Left), Hana(Bottom Right)  for representing Smith Elementary at the Stonebriar Mall Heart Wall for heart awareness month.  These paintings will help to earn money for the American Heart Association.

The Wimberly Butterfly Art Contest

4th and 5th grade Art Club students have completed their butterfly designs.  Each student had to chose a fantasy or realistic design and medium of their choice. Our butterflies will be turned in March 16th.

4th Grade Art Club students have begun construction of their paper mache Oaxacan Creatures.  The students are creating an armature of their creature using paper towel rolls, newspaper and tape.

All Collin County art contest entries will be dropped off tomorrow.  Use the above link for viewing times and location at the Myers Park Event Center in McKinney,  It's my understanding that not all art work will be displayed due to the size of the contest.  All entries will be picked up Friday and I'll have the results, ribbons, and art work to pass back to the students.
